This is a project to tell people who would like to apply for the Advertising Design that “Words are important here, so think twice before you apply”. Punctuation is essential for every sentence. There will be different meaning when the punctuation is at various position. By three punctuations: an exclamation mark, a bracket and a slight-pause mark are used to set off items in a series, as the three stories are developed by the chinese name of the punctuations. The major copy of the stories is to ask if you are unique and qualified for the program. The chinese word “標青” includes the Chinese name of punctuations.

 

The following is the translation for the exclamation mark poster, “Hong Kong people is very busy and they certified their leisure time for working. People can only communicate with messages. “Hey!” “Hey…” Can you feel the difference between them?”

 

The following is the translation for the bracket poster, “ “Big sale! Buy three get one free! Best deal in the city!” No one knows if this is the fact. There is no statistic to prove its credibility. What is its original price? Let’s see what it got. Words lead thinking. A simple sentence makes people to consider again and again. Can your wordings deliberate the appropriate meaning?”

 

The following is the translation for the  slight-pause mark, “People are busy on their phones in the train at six o’clock in the afternoon. Some people are standing with souless body. A laughter break the silence. All passengers are attracted by the laughter of a baby. The average time of the looking at an advertisement is only five seconds. Can your wordings stop a person?”
